● A memorial service for Eva E. Cooprider, 79, was held on March 31 at Hesston Mennonite Church, with Paul Friesen and Carl Wiebe officiating. The service was preceded by graveside services and burial at Eastlawn Cemetery north of Zimmerdale, with Wesley Jantz in charge. A retired area teacher, she died on March 28 at Bethel Deaconess Hospital, Newton. A graduate of Hesston Academy, Emporia State Teachers College and Greeley State teacher College, she taught in the McPherson and Harvey counties' rural schools for a number of years and also at Cooper and Northridge schools in Newton, 1948-1972. Survivors include a brother, Paul, of Wichita; and a sister, Orpha Hershberger of Goshen, Ind.
