Funeral services for Hester Rebecca Claassen, 76, of North Newton, were held on Nov. 4 at Faith Mennonite Church, Newton, with Donovan Graber and Jim Dunn officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. A homemaker, she died on Nov. 1 at Bethel Deaconess Hospital, Newton. Survivors include her husband, Edward L. "Ed" Claassen; three sons, Edward W. of Nortonville, Harold J. of Conway and Charles "Chuck" E. of Topeka; two daughters, Elizabeth C. McKim of Burrton and Clara Kerekes of Newton; one brother, John A. Schroeder of Goessel; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
