• Miss Edna S. Claassen, 87, a native and lifelong resident here, died March 1 at a nursing home in Canton where she had been a patient for the past year. Her residence was at 127 Boyd in Newton. Miss Claassen was a member of the First Mennonite Church. The funeral was conducted Monday afternoon at Draper's Funeral Home, with Rev. Paul Isaak officiating. The only survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Gussie Edens of San Francisco and Mrs. Ruby Kelleher of Osawatomie, Kan.
