● Funeral services for Elise (Mrs. Carl J.) Claassen, 86, a homemaker of near Whitewater, were held May 24 at Emmaus Mennonite Church, rural Whitewater, with Alvin Kleinsasser officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. She died May 21 at Wheat State Manor, Whitewater, where she had lived a short time. Survivors include her husband, of Whitewater; one son, Milton A. Claassen, M.D., of Newton; one daughter, Virginia Claassen, rural Whitewater; one brother, Cornelius Regier, of Hesston; and four grandchildren.
