• Funeral services for the three Marion County residents who were killed in a two-car accident on K-15 near Durham on Thursday afternoon, Aug. 2, were held in Hillsboro and Durham area churches. The services for Jacob T. Loewen, 77, a native of Hillsboro and retired long-time partner in Buller Manufacturing Co. were held at the Hillsboro First Mennonite Church on Monday afternoon, Aug. 6. Officiating at the service was Rev. Roland Goering, the pastor. Services for Mrs. Fred (Flora Jean) Carlson, 28, were held at the Durham Baptist Church, with Rev. Curtis Wiens in charge. Rev. Wiens also officiated at the services for Ed Hamm, 87, a native of South Russia, a retired farmer and member of the First Baptist Church at Durham.
