— Peter B. Camp, 90, retired farmer of Hesston, died Saturday, April 1, at the Bethel Deaconess Hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Hesston Mennonite Church, with Rev. Peter B. Wiebe officiating. The body was sent to St. John, Mich. for burial in Washington Cemetery. A native of Woodford County, Ill., Mr. Camp had lived in the Hesston community for 50 years. He is survived by his wife the former Fannie Neuenschwander; three step-children, Mrs. Ruby Showalter of Johnstown, Colo., Mrs. Helen Widmer of Wayland, Iowa, and Timothy T. Yoder of Archbold, Ohio; and a number of grandchildren.

PETER B. CAMP

Peter B. Camp, son of Christian and Magdalena Smith Camp, was born Oct. 7, 1870, in Woodford County near Roanoke, Ill. He passed away April1, 1961, at the Bethel Deaconess Hospital in Newton, Kan. at the age of 90 years, five months, and 25 days. His death was due to a failing heart, and intensified by an emergency operation.

In January, 1897, he was united in marriage to Celia Gingerich, who passed away in 1936. To this union were born four children, Alma and Malinda, and a daughter and son who died in infancy.

They resided near Washington, Ill., until 1913 when they moved to Texas, due to the ill health of Malinda, and then to Hesston, Kansas in 1917. Alma (Mrs. Lester Weaver) and Malinda both passed away in 1931. Preceding him in death also were three sisters and four brothers.

In 1947 he was united in marriage to Fannie Neuenschwander Showalter, who survives to mourn his departure. Also surviving him are three step-children, four grandchildren, a number of step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives.

Early in life he accepted Christ as his Saviour and united with the Mennonite church. He was a faithful follower of Christ and a loyal supporter of the church during his long life.

Funeral services were held at the Hesston Mennonite Church April 4, with Pastor Wiebe in charge, and at the Bethel Mennonite Church, Ashley, Mich., April 6, where the body was laid to rest.
