Called by Death at Roanoke, Ill.

Metamora, Ill. — Funeral services were held at the Metamora Mennonite church Jan. 16 for Mrs. Anna E. Camp, 73, well known resident of the community. The services were conducted by Henry R. Schertz and J. N. Kauffman.

Mrs. Camp, the former Anna Schertz, was married to John J. Camp on Feb. 13, 1900, and they spent their entire married life on a farm in Roanoke township.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Prof. Ezra Camp of St. Paul, Minn.; four grandchildren; of Metamora and Emanuel and two brothers, John W. Schertz Schertz of Washburn. [word order in original]

MRS. ANNA E. CAMP

Mrs. Anna E. Camp, 73, wife of John J. Camp, died at 7:30 a. m Sunday at her home in Roanoke township, near Roanoke, Ill. She had been in failing health since May.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, at 1 p. m. at the residence and at 2 p. m. at the Metamora Mennonite church. The services were conducted by Rev. Henry R. Schertz, pastor, and Rev J. N. Kauffman. Music for the service was sung by a male quartet, Willmer Schrock, Harold Schrock, Willard Schrock and Arthur Noe. Two of the favorite songs of deceased were sung Willard Schrock. Pall bearers were Paul Schertz, Joe Garber, Clifford Camp, Eldon Schertz, Peter H. Schertz and John H. Garber.

Interment was in Hickory Point cemetery west of Metamora.

Mrs. Camp was born Feb. 25, 1878, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Schertz. She was married to John J. Camp Feb. 13, 1900, and all of her married life has been spent on the farm in Roanoke township.

Survivors are her husband, a son, Ezra of St. Paul, Minn.; four grandchildren; and two brothers, John W. Schertz of Metamora and Emanuel Schertz of Washburn.

Among the many attending the last services were deceased’s son, Ezra and family of St. Paul, Minn., who had been here during her last illness, and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Camp of Hesston, Kan.

Many friends mourn with the bereaved family the loss of wife, mother and neighbor, who was beloved by all who knew her throughout her 73 years, 10 months and 11 days of life in this community.
