— Mrs. Katherine Buller, 81, a resident of Newton since 1933, died Tuesday morning at the Bethel Deaconess hospital where she had been a patient since Jan. 8. Funeral services are announced for 1:00 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, at the First Mennonite church, of which she was a member. Mrs. Buller was the widow of David Buller, who died in 1948. She is survived by three sons, David H. of Route 5, Leonard H. of Newton, and Bert of Wichita; three daughters, Mrs. Harry Mitzner of Wichita, Mrs. Art Frey of Newton, and Miss Linda Buller, missionary in Colombia; two sisters, Mrs. Herman Jantzen of Newton and Miss Mary Unruh of Goessel; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

— A large number of relatives and friends attended funeral services for Mrs. Katherine Unruh Buller, 81, held Sunday afternoon at the First Mennonite church. Rev. Arnold Epp, the pastor, officiated. Burial was made in the cemetery of the Hoffnungsau Mennonite church near Inman, where Rev. Dan Dalke conducted the graveside service. Mrs. Buller died here Jan. 19. Miss Linda Buller, a missionary in Colombia, flew home to attend her mother's funeral.

MRS. KATHERINE BULLER

Mrs. Katherine Buller was born in McPherson County, Kansas on July 26, 1878 and passed away Jan. 19, 1960, at the age of 81 years and five months.

In 1896 she was baptized upon the confession of her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour and was received as a member into the Hoffnungsau church.

On May 4, 1899, she was united in marriage to David Buller. They lived together 49 years, five months and 13 days. To this union were born eight children. Two daughters, Anna and Tina, died in infancy.

In 1920 she transferred her church membership to the Buhler Mennonite church, where she became active in Christian work. On March 13, 1944 she transferred her membership to the First Mennonite church of Newton where she remained an active member until her death.

She always has had a keen interest in the work of the Church and actively participated in its many activities. She will be especially missed by the ladies of the Kitchen Committee. She was a faithful helper in the church kitchen. Her p;lace in Sunday school and worship services was never vacant except for reason of illness.

Surviving are her children, David of Newton, Sara, Mrs. Harry Mitzner of Wichita, Emma, Mrs. Arthur Frey of Newton, Lindia of Colombia, South America, Leonard of Newton, and Albert of Wichita; two sisters, Mrs. Herman P. Jantzen of Newton and Miss Mary Unruh of Goessel; two sons-in-law; three daughters-in-law; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
