• Funeral services for David J. Buller, 79, were conducted Friday afternoon, May 25, at the Goessel Mennonite Church. Rev. Henry Goossen, the pastor, officiated. Mr. Buller died May 22 at the Bethesda Hospital. He was a native of the Goessel community and was married there to Margaret Duerksen in 1920. They lived on the farm until 1969, when they moved to Goessel. Surviving are the widow; three sons, Roy of Wichita, Melvin of Colorado Springs, Colo., and James of McPherson; two grandchildren; and two half-sisters, Mrs. Arthur J. Woelk of Goessel and Mrs. John Schmidt of Florence.

DAVID J. BULLER
David J. Buller, son of Jacob H. and Anna Schmidt Buller, was born Feb. 4, 1894 on a farm one mile south of Goessel, Kan. He died at the age of 79.
When he was three the family moved to a farm five miles northwest of Goessel where he spent his childhood and youth. He received his education is Green Valley school.
On May 15, 1915 he was baptized by Heinrich Banman and became a member of the Alexanderwohl Church. When the Goessel Church was organized in 1920 he became a charter member.
On Nov. 13, 1920 he married Margaret Duerksen. This union lasted 52 years.
He farmed all his wife in the Goessel and Hillsboro communities. He retired in 1962 but lived on the farm until 1969. Then he and his wife Margaret moved to Goessel. He was a quiet and loving husband and father. He died May 22, 1973.
He leaves to mourn his wife; three sons, Roy and wife Dorothy of Wichita, Melvin and wife Donice of Colorado Springs, James and wife Ethel of McPherson; two sisters, Hulda, Mrs. Arthur Woelk, and Susie, Mrs. John Schmidt; one sister-in-law., Mrs. Anna Buller; two grandchildren and two step grandsons with their wives and children.
Three brothers, six sisters and a grandson preceded him in death.
