text of obituary:
MRS. SARAH BALZER BUHLER
Our loving wife and mother, Sarah Balzer Buhler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Balzer, was born on June 5,1893, on a farm near Mountain Lake, Minn. In this rural community she spent her childhood days and attended the little country school.
In the year of 1910 she recognized her lost condition and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour. She was baptized upon the confession of her faith by Elder Heinrich Voth and received into the Mennonite Brethren Church for fellowship. To the Lord and her church she remained faithful to the end.
In November 1910 she, with her parents, moved to a farm near Reedley, Calif.
On July14, 1918, she was united with Abraham Buhler in holy matrimony. This union, which lasted 39 years, eight months and 12 days, was blessed with three children, one daughter and two sons.
Our mother was devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ and longed to live a life of simplicity devoted to His cause, seeking to support the Church of Jesus Christ. She was a faithful companion to her husband, and a loving precious mother to us children.
Mother enjoyed comparatively good health most of her life. It is only in the last two years that she had been ailing, and felt rather weak. About 10 days ago she suffered a stroke and was taken to the Dinuba Hospital. Here she received the best of care but we soon noticed that her days in this life were numbered. Saturday morning, April 12, 1958, about 6:00 a. m. the Lord issued the summons for her soul to come home. We praise God that we know that there was administered unto her an abundant entrance into the heavenly home. Therefore, we rejoice knowing that we shall see her again. She reached the age of 64 years, 10 months, and seven days.
Those who mourn at her departure are: Her husband, Abraham M. Buhler of Reedley; one daughter, Adina, Mrs. Clarence Warkentin of Dinuba, Calif.; two sons, Harry Buhler and John A. Buhler, both of Reedley; one son-in-law; two daughters-in-law; seven grandsons; two brothers, J. S. Balzer of Shafter, Calif. and B. H. Balzer, Dinuba; one sister, Tena Balzer of Chicago, Ill.
The memorial service was conducted in the Reedley M. B. Church on Wednesday, March 16, with Rev. Dan Friesen and Rev. J. J. Wiebe officiating. — The Family.
