GLEN ALVA BVERGE

Glen Alva Buerge, son of Alvah W. and Naomi (Leatherman) Buerge, was born near Wadsworth, Ohio, on June 21, 1926.

He departed this life in the Veteran's hospital in Los Angeles, Calif., Oct. 6, 1954, at the age of 28 years, three months and 15 days.

When Glen was three years old, his father passed away. It was a loss Glen keenly felt all through his childhood years. He attended school in Wadsworth, Ohio, also had one year at the Harrison, Michigan school while living with his aunt, Mrs. Chris Iutzi.

On April 21, 1945, he was married to Hazel Ruth Warner of Medina, Ohio, and to this union was born two sons. In 1949 they moved to Bakersfield, Calif., where they still reside.

He had been in poor health for seven years. He bore his severe suffering patiently, often wondering why it had to be that way, but never complaining. His pleasant disposition has won for him a host of friends, especially in the hospital where he had been a patient most of the past two years.

Realizing we have no abiding city here, he made preparation for his eternal happiness. Repenting of and confessing his sins, he found peace with God and was baptized by Chaplain Hubert W. Hodgens of the hospital where he was a patient.

He leaves to mourn his early departure his wife, Hazel Ruth Buerge, two sons, Glenn Jerry and James Ray; his mother, Mrs. Naomi Buerge of Harrison; five brothers, Wilfred and Donald of Wadsworth, Ohio, Eugene of Ithaca, Mich., Virgil of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Frank of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; two sisters, Mrs. Wilma Leatherman of Ithaca and Mrs. Viola Harms of Walnut Hill, Florida.

He was laid to rest in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Bakersfield, Calif.
