Pioneer in Practical Nursing Called by Death.

Lancaster, Pa. — Mrs. Anna M. Buch, 71, who was among this area's first licensed practical nurses, died Dec. 6 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. David Smoker, after a long illness. Mrs. Buch and her husband, Harvey K. Buch, lived next door to the Smokers.

Mrs. Buch was a charter member of the Young Women's Chrsitian Assn. training program for practical nurses. She ministered to convalescents from 1932 to 1952. She was a long-time member of the East Chestnut Street Mennonite Church in Lancaster, where the funeral was conducted. Dec. 9.

Surviving besides her husband and daughter are four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters.
