Retired Missionary To India Dies at Schowalter Villa

Hesston, Kan. — Funeral services were conducted at the Hesston Mennonite Church on Dec. 26 for Rev. A. C. Brunk, 83, retired missionary to India who died Dec. 23 at Schowalter Villa here. Rev. Peter Wiebe officiated at the service.

Rev. Brunk was born in Virginia on Oct. 25, 1886. His parents died when he was a young boy, and at the age of 12 he moved to Ohio with his grandparents. After graduation from Goshen College in 1912, he went to India as a missionary. There he married Eva Harder, and they served on the India field for a period of 35 years.

After retirement they lived at Elkhart, Ind., where Mrs. Brunk died in 1949. In 1951 he married Melva Harder at Colorado Springs, Colo., where they lived until moving to Hesston in 1960.

He is survived by his wife of Schowalter Villa.
