EVELYN ELY BRUNK

Evelyn Grace (Ely) Brunk, daughter of Ernest and Lucy Ely, was born in McPherson county, Kans., Nov. 22, 1916. She suddenly departed this life of a coronary condition at her home near Winom, [sic Windom] Kans., Nov. 8, 1950, at 11 p. m., at the age of 33 years, 11 months and 17 days.

In her youth she accepted Christ as her Saviour and through baptism became a member of the West Liberty Mennonite church of which she remained a faithful member until the Lord called her to her Heavenly home.

She attended Inman high school and graduated with the class of 1936. For several years after graduation she was a successful teacher of a rural school.

On February 3, 1939, she was united in marriage to Ivan Brunk. She was a devoted and faithful wife and a kind and loving mother, beloved by all who knew her.

She leaves to mourn her departure her bereaved husband, her daughter, Peggy Jane, 10 years, her sons Robert Dunne, five years and Larry Wayne, three years; her mother, Mrs. Lucy (Cooprider) Ely, of Inman, Kans., two sisters, Carol of Inman and Lois (Mrs. John Johnston) of Hesston, Kansas; two brothers, Harold of Conway and Oren of Inman; and many close relatives and friends.

It will be four years on Nov. 29 that her father was also unexpectedly called to his reward and now together they are awaiting the Resurrection of Life.

Services were conducted by J. G. Hartzler and M. M. Troyer, Sunday, Nov. 12, 1950, at 2:30 o'clock, from the West Liberty Mennonite church. Music, "Will the Circle be Unbroken," sung at the home and "Beyond the Sunset," “Shadows," and "Precious Lord, Take My Hand” at the church service and “Asleep in Jesus," at the cemetery, sung by Mr. and Mrs. Levi Yoder and Mr. and Mrs. Sanford King.
