Long-Time Deacon of Ontario Church Dies

Brunner, Ontario. — Memorial services for Christian R. Brunk, 88, who died Jan. 8, were held Jan. 11 at the Poole Mennonite Church where he served in the office of deacon for more than 48 years. Rev. Amsey Martin officiated at the services.

Mr. Brunk was ordained as deacon in 1920. He also served for several years as secretary of the Western Ontario Mennonite Conference. He retired from farming in 1955.

Survivors include his widow, the former Fannie Kropf; a son, Ivan, and daughter, Mrs. nelson Bach, both of Brunner; a brother, Rev. Amos Brunk of Poole; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
