JACOB M. BRUBAKER

Jacob M. Brubaker, formerly of Rt. 2, Myerstown, Pa., was born on June 12, 1873 to Jacob S. and Nancy, (Martin) Brubaker near St. Jacobs, Ont. In the spring of 1888, as a youth of 14, he moved with his parents to Osceola County, Iowa.

On Feb. 27, 1898 he was married to Leah M. Gingrich. They shared the joys and sorrows of life until 1951 when mother passed away. In 1913 they moved from Iowa to Pennsylvania.

Father accepted his Savior at the age of 24 years and was faithful until the Lord called him home. He was a member of the Fairview Mennonite Church, and a retired farmer.

He was a guest at the Fairmount Rest Home for the past two years, where he passed away on May 2, 1970, at the age of 96 years, 11 months and 20 days.

Surviving are two sons, Amon and Simon of Myerstown; four daughters, Nancy, wife of Peter Smith of Hershey, Pa., Lavina, wife of John Horst of Lebanon, Pa., Franey, wife of Leroy Groff of Union Deposit, Pa.; Sara, wife of Melvin Gehman of Bally, Pa. Three children died in infancy and Elias in 1940. Nineteen grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were conducted at Fairview Mennonite Church by Bishop Joseph Weaver, Carl Good, and Aaron Horning. Burial was made in the Fairview Cemetery.
