• A. J. Brubacher, 75, retired farmer of North Newton, died Feb. 26 at Bethel Deaconess Hospital. A native of Hanston, Kan., he married Clara Hirschler there in 1916 and they lived at Perry, Okla. and in the Moundridge community before moving to Newton in 1944. In recent years Mr. Brubacher had been employed by the city of North Newton. Survivors include his widow; sons E. J. and Jack of Newton, and Donald J. of Hesston; four daughters, Mrs. B. Mario Dirks of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Allen Dalke of Moundridge, Mrs. Kenneth L. Stucky and Mrs. O. B. Krehbiel, both of Newton; 16 grandchildren, one great-grandson, and three sisters. The funeral was conducted Saturday forenoon at the Bethel College Church, with Rev. Esko Loewen officiating.
