Northern Indiana Youth Fatally Hurt When Car Hits Tree
Goshen, Ind.—Injuries suffered in a one-car accident west of New Paris shortly before 8 o'clock the morning of Feb. 1 proved fatal to Stephen A. Brubacher, 18, son of Sidney Brubacher of Route 3, Nappanee.
The young man was traveling alone on a county road when the car went out of control and slid broadside, hitting a tree on the driver's side. It was reported that the pavement was slippery at the time. It was about a half hour before rescuers could remove the youth from his wrecked car. He was rushed to the Goshen Hospital and then to South Bend Memorial Hospital where he died that evening.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, Feb. 4, at the Yellow Cheek Wisler Mennonite Church.
