— The funeral of Mrs. H. H. Brooks at Halstead last Thursday was attended by a large group of Newton people. Mrs. Brooks had been employed at the Rorabaugh store here until she, together with her husband moved to Nashville, Tenn., where she died suddenly as the result of rheumatic paralysis.

Mrs. H. H. Brooks, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Janzen, of Halstead, Kansas was born near Halstead on Dec. first, 1900, and passed away at Nashville, Tenn., at 5:45 a.m., Aug 7, 1927, at the age of 26 years, eight months and seven days. Death which came instantly was caused by a stroke of paralysis which struck the heart.

Mrs. H. H. Brooks, or Alma, lived near Halstead until in July, 1918, when she went with her parents to Newton, Kansas where she lived until July 23, 1926, when she was united in marriage to Mr. H. H. Brooks, formerly of Newton, but now of Nashville, Tenn., and which became her home until death.

Mrs. Brooks leaves to mourn her death, her husband, H. H. Brooks, father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Janzen of Halstead, four sisters, Mrs. G. D. Schroeder, Mrs. John Wiens, Mrs. John Entz and Miss Ann Janzen of Newton, Kansas; three brothers, Herman Janzen of California, Walter of Sedgwick, Kansas, and henry of Arkansas City, four nieces and four nephews.

Alma was baptized in the Mennonite Church at Halstead, Kansas, in1916 by Rev. J. E. Amstutz, of which she was a member till her death. — Exchange.
