Father of Bluffton Teacher Is Killed in Accident.

Berne, Ind., March 25. — Timothy H. Brenneman, 73, of Goshen, was fatally injured Sunday when struck by an automobile, according to a telegram received here this morning by his brother, moody Brenneman, west of town. Mr. Brenneman died this morning, according to the message received at 8:00 o'clock. The accident happened at Goshen.

While details were not available, it is understood that Mr. Brenneman was walking home from church when he was run down by an auto.

Mr. Brenneman had been here several times during the past few weeks to call on his brother Moody, who has been ailing for some time. He was here only a few days ago and his brother here was deeply shocked to learn of the tragic death.

Mr. Brenneman was a retired mail clerk, having served in that capacity on the Lake Shore railroad between Chicago and Cleveland.

He was the father to Miss Naomi Brenneman, head of the department of English at Bluffton College, Bluffton, Ohio, who is known to many here. The other children are Jesse, teaching at Manhattan, Kansas; Ruth at Indiana, Pa., Mrs. Paul Huber of Goshen. The widow also survives.

The deceased was a son of Rev. and Mrs. Daniel Brenneman, deceased, of Goshen. Brothers and sisters surviving are: Mrs. Mary B. Sherk of Goshen; Samuel J. of Sedalia, Mo., Judah of Lewellyn, Nebr.; Mrs. H. S. Cressman of Nashburn, Sask., Canada; Mrs. Martha Cross, Oakland, Calif.; D. J. of Crowley, Colo.; Mrs. C. F. Snyder, missionary at Hochow, Kansu Province, China and Moody Brenneman of this place. The oldest sister, Mrs. Sherk, is visiting here at present.

Funeral services will be held at Goshen probably on Wednesday or Thursday. — Berne Witness.
