MARGARET BRAUN

Margaret Braun was born in Main Centre, Sask., in 1910. Her parents were John and Katharina Schroeder. She accepted the Lord as her Saviour at an early age and was baptized in 1930 and joined the MB Church at Main Centre.

She has been very active in church work, especially singing in the choir. She revealed a deep concern or the welfare of others. Although her application for missionary service was not accepted, she bore this disappointment with grace. For many years she served as dietician in the Hepburn Bible School and during summers in the camps, during which times she made many friends.

She was married to Henry Braun in 1953, in the Brotherfield MB Church. For several years they lived in Alexander, Man., then in 1959 they moved to Winnipeg. The marriage was blessed with three children. She passed away peacefully on June 29 in her 63rd year. Predeceased by her parents, she is the first of their children to be gathered to her eternal rest.

She leaves to mourn, her husband, Henry, two sons: John and Gladys Braun of Alexander, Leonard and Helen Braun of Calgary; a daughter, Alice and Neil Dyck of Boissevain, Man., and six sisters and four brothers.

Funeral services were held on July 4 in the North Kildonan MB Church.

Correction: August 10, 1972 p. 31 In the previous issue of the Herald the obituary of Margaret Braun stated that she had been married to Henry Braun in Brotherfield. Henry Braun was married to his first wife in Brotherfield in 1928 but was married to Margaret in Hepburn in 1953. There were three children from the first marriage but none from the second. (ED.)
