• Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Brandt and family of North Newton attended funeral services at Gotebo, Okal. on Aug. 27 for his father, J. J. Brandt,85. A resident of a home for aged for about five years, Mr. Brandt died on Aug. 24.

J. J. BRANDT

J. J. Brandt, son of Jacob and Kathrina Buller Brandt, was born April 5, 1877 at Lehigh, Kan. and passed from this life on Aug. 24, 1962. He reached the age of 85 years, three months and 19 days.

He was married to Anna Reimer on Nov. 21, 1899. To this union were born five sons and two daughters.

He accepted Christ as his Saviour and was baptized June 6, 1897. After moving to Oklahoma he transferred his membership to the Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Gotebo, of which he was a member until his death.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one son who died in infancy, two sisters and two brothers.

He with his family came to Oklahoma in 1901 and moved to a farm near Mt. View. There he resided til 1953 when he moved to Gotebo.

Those who mourn his departure are four sons, Arthur, Denver, Colo., Arnold, Gotebo, Okla., Jake, Plainview, Texas, Waldo, Newton, Kan; two daughters, Hilda Thiessen, Gotebo, Okla., and Marie Middleton, ElDorado, Kan.; four daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, 12 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren, one brother, Henry, Goessel, Kan.; two sisters, Kathrina Reimer, Everett, Wash. and Anna Flaming, Goessel, Kan., and a host of relatives and friends.
