HARRY G. BRACKBILL

Harry Good Brackbill of Malvern, Penn. died Dec. 7, 1966 at the West Chester Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was the founder and manager of the Brackbill Farm Markets located along U.S. 30 west of Philadelphia. Tracts and other Christian literature were prominently displayed and available tot he customers who frequented the markets.

He was a charter member of the Frazer Menonite [sic Mennonite] Church, which continued to be his greatest satisfaction and concern of all his Christian interests. He served as Sunday school superintendent for 40 years. He founded and served as superintendent of the Frazer Summer Bible School for 35 years, which he developed into probably the largest Mennonite Summer Bible School known. Enrollment exceeded 700 pupils. He was known in the East as "Mr. Summer Bible School."

Any evangelical Christina witness could count on his support. The American Sunday School Union, Gideons, Child Evangelism, Christian Business Men's Committee, Evangelical Child and Family Service, Philadelphia College of the Bible, Morning Cheer Camp Assn., and the Upper Main Line Evangelistic Assn. are among those organizations on which he served and supported generously.

Surviving are his wife, Myrtle; daughters, Mrs. Emery King and Mrs. Horace Hartshaw; two brothers, Milton and Charles Brackbill; one sister, Mrs. Francis Harvey.

Harry's life can best be epitomized by the remark made by a banker friend at his funeral, "Harry was the only man I ever knew who never had an enemy." (Prepared by J. N. Weaver).
