John Borman, son of William and Katharina Borman, was born Sept. 24, 1855, at Potasge [''sic''' Portage], Wisconsin. He died Feb. 5, 1928, in Freeman, S. D., at the age of 72 years, 4 month and 11 days. In the year 1882, he entered the holy bonds of matrimony with Katharina Ries, who died Oct. 5, 1895. This union was blessed with four children. In the year 1895 he was married the second time to Katie Ries and shared the joys and sorrows of the married life with her for 32 years, 2 months and 7 days. This union was blessed with 8 children. About three years ago he had a stroke of paralysis which weakened his constitution. These strokes were repeated several times leaving him always weaker and more helpless than before. He was confined to the bed for the last 6 months and was entirely helpless. His desire was to depart and to be with the Lord. this desire was fulfilled when he was called home Sunday evening, February 5th. Formerly he was a member of the Methodist church. About 13 years ago he became a member of the Salem Zion Mennonite church and served this church faithfully to his end. He is mourned by his beloved wife and 7 children.

John Borman

John Borman, son of William and Katharina Borman, was born Sept. 24, 1855, at Potasge [sic' Portage], Wisconsin. He died Feb. 5, 1928, in Freeman, S. D., at the age of 72 years, 4 month and 11 days.
