MRS. OLIVER BONTRAGER

Verna Bontrager, 69, of the Sky View Mobile village, Rt. 5, Goshen, Ind., died Sunday evening, June, 22, at the Goshen General Hospital.

She was born at Walnut Creek, Ohio on Dec. 11, 1899 to Nathaniel and Lydia (Miller) Hershberger. She had lived in the Goshen area since 1922.

She was married to Oliver Bontrager on Jan. 8, 1922. For the past 13 years she had been employed at Nicholson Nursing Home of Goshen. She had previously been employed at Miles Laboratories and at Buescher Band Instrument Co. of Elkhart, ind.

Surviving are her husband; five daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Helen) Hostetler of McPherson, Kan., Mrs. Omer (Kathryn) Miller and Mrs. Ben (Nadine) Miller of Goshen, Mrs. B. J. (Joan) Tuttrup of Phoenix, Ariz. and Mrs. Henry (Pearl) Copenhaver of Wakarusa, Ind.; a son, M. Max of Pasadena, Calif.; 17 grandchildren, one great-grandson; four brothers, Len N. and Dan N. Hershberger of Walnut Creek, Ohio, Lloyd G. Hershberger of Louisville, Ohio, and Ray Hershberger of Canton, Ohio. three sisters preceded her; Mrs. Wm. (Amanda) Shutt and Mrs. Lawrence (Lovina) Gerber, both of Sugarcreek, Ohio, and Mrs. Gilbert (Elizabeth) Jaberg of New Philadelphia, Ohio.

Services were held at the Goshen College Mennonite Church, of which she was a member, at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, by Robert Detwiler and John H. Mosemann. Burial was made in the Violett Cemetery at Goshen.
