Herman Boese was born to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Boese on June 29, 1909, at Henderson, Neb. He passed away to be with the Lord on Friday afternoon, Sept. 9, 1966, at the Salem Memorial Hospital, 48 hours after receiving a skull fracture in a fall from a scaffold. He reached the age of 57 years, two months and 11 days.

He spent his boyhood with his parents on a farm near Henderson. In 1935 he moved to Madrid, Neb. where he engaged in farming until the fall of 1945.

On Oct. 20, 1935, he was united in marriage with Evelyn Boese at Alsen, N. D. This union was blessed with five children. One daughter, Frances Carol, preceded him in death at the age of six.

Mr. Boese with his family moved to Salem, Ore. in January 1946, where he took up the building trade in which he was engaged until the time of his death.

In the spring of 1936, the Holy Spirit through the Word of God convicted him of his lost condition and he received Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour from sin. He was baptized upon his confession of faith that same year. On Dec. 5, 1948, he was accepted into the Kingwood Bible Church, where he was a faithful member and devoted worked until the time of his death. For a number of years he served on the Board of Trustees and was also a member of the building committee during the time the church constructed its new sanctuary.

Those remaining to carry on the word he has laid down are: his wife, Evelyn; two sons, Dale and Max, both of Salem, Ore.; two daughters, Sheryl, Mrs. Clayton Steinke of Eugene, Ore., and Bonnie, a student at Colorado Women's College in Denver; two brothers, Henry H. of Denver, Colo. and Benjamin F. of Alexandria, Va.; one sister Minnie, Mrs. Rudolf Reimer of Monmouth, Ore.; and two grandchildren, Todd and Lori Boese, both of Salem.
