Minna Boese was born on June 5, 1893, to Abr. A. and Helena Letkeman Boese in Marion county, Kansas. She lost her mother in 1907, when she was 15 years of age. After this she assumed the responsibility of keeping house for her father, two brothers and one sister for several years, with the exception of one year when she attended the Bible Academy in Hillsboro.

She was baptized by Ref. H. Banman in the spring of 1914.

She had a great desire to go on to school and after her father was married again she attended the academy at Bethel College for a number of years. later she attended Colorodo [sic Colorado] University and received the B. S. degree.

She has taught school continuously after completing her education. She taught in the high school of Billings, Montana, for the last 18 years, with the exception of about one year due to illness.

On Sunday, January 20, she suddenly became seriously ill and passed away early Monday morning, January 21, 1946. She attained the age of 52 years, 7 months and 20 days. Her parents preceded her in death.

She leaves one brother, Dr. A. Boese and Frances his wife and children of Coffeeville, Kansas; one sister, Mary and Theodore Schmidt, her husband and children, two sisters, Lydia and Edna through her father's second marriage, and their husbands and children.

Father to Thee we look in all our sorrows
Thou art the fountain whence our healing flows;
Dark though the night, joy cometh with the morrow
Safely they rest who on Thy love repose.

Funeral services were held at the Goessel Mennonite church on Friday January 25, with Rev. P. P. Buller in charge. He was assisted by Rev. E. R. Stucky. A mixed quartet sang appropriate numbers.
