MRS. ANDREW L. BOESE

Mrs. Tina Jost Boese, daughter of Henry and Tina Jost, was born Jan.1, 1884 in the Hope Valley District near Hillsboro, Kan. She was brought up in a Christian home and found the Lord Jesus as her personal Savior as a young woman. On April 7, 1900, she was baptized and received into the fellowship of the Gnadenau Church.

On Feb. 28, 1913, she was united in marriage to Andrew L. Boese and became mother to his four children. This union was blessed with 48 years of happy marriage and four sons and one daughter. In 1920 they moved to Inman, Kansas where her husband engaged in farming and carpenter work. About seven years later they moved back to the Hillsboro community and affiliated with the Gnadenau Church.

She found joy in serving in various capacities in the church. She was also a devoted Christian mother, having a deep concern for her loved ones. Her prayer was that they would all be saved. It was her foremost desire to live for Christ who died for her. After the death of her husband, who passed away on April 21, 1961, she had a great longing to leave this world and be at rest.

In August 1961 she moved into the home for the aged in Hillsboro. She was admitted to the Salem Hospital in Hillsboro on July 25, 1962 where she passed away on Oct. 5, 1962. She reached the age of 78 years, nine months and three days.

She leaves to mourn five sons, Elmer of Hillsboro, Andrew of Burns, Melvin of Wichita, Henry of Sullivan City, Texas, and Ezra of Marion; two daughters, Agnes, Mrs. Art Bartel of Greensburg, Kansas, and Lois, Mrs. Wallace Loewen of Peabody; 25 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, A. R. Jost of Reedley, Calif., J. R. Jost of Reedley, and F. R. Jost of Hillsboro. Her husband, one son, one daughter, three brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
