Sam G. Boese

Sam G. Boese, son of Henry S. and Justina Siemens Boese, was born on Dec. 1, 1922 at Corn, Okla. Here he spent his childhood days, attending the elementary schools, and was graduated from the Corn Bible School and Academy.

He was reared in a Christian home and as a teen-age boy accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. In October 1939 he was baptized upon his confession of faith and united with the Mennonite Brethren Church.

On Nov. 18, 1945, he was united in holy matrimony to Melba Hagen at Ingalls, Kan. This union, which lasted only 20 years and two months, was blessed with two children, Barbara, now a high school senior, and Jim, a high school sophomore.

We had a happy family life and the first 14 years was spent on a farm near Ingalls, Kan. In 1960 we moved to Denver, Colo. where he became a construction contractor. He enjoyed his work very much and was a wonderful provider for the family. He loved the Lord and was very devoted to his church where he served many years as head usher and also in singing the praises of the Lord.

A few weeks ago he began to complain of weariness and fatigue. We consulted our physician and after thorough diagnosis he recommended major surgery. Seemingly all was working out well after the operation. However, he became very ill with a high fever. After prayer by the family and many in the church, we committed him to the Lord and the Lord saw fit to take him home to glory. On a number of occasions he assured his pastor that all was well with his soul. He reached the age of 43 years, one month and 15 days.

The following remain to mourn his early departure. His loving wife, Melba Boese, Denver, Colo.; one daughter, Barbara, and one son, Jim, of the home address; his father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Henry S. Boese of Corn, Okla.; four brothers, Harry of Neosha, Mo., Eldon of Buhler, Kan., Homer, a pastor of Hagerstown, Penna. and Lewis of Fresno, Calif. — The Family.
