MRS. JUSTINA BOESE

Justina Siemens Boese was born Jan. 25, 1893, to Jacob and Anna Siemens at Inman, McPherson County, Kansas. At six years of age she moved to Buhler, Kan. with her parents where she received her elementary education. In 1906 she with her parents moved to Corn, Washita County, Oklahoma.

In 1908 she realized her lost condition and by faith trusted the Lord for salvation and as her personal Saviour. Upon confession of faith she was baptized and received into the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church by Rev. Abraham Richert.

On May 24, 1914 she was united in holy matrimony with Henry S. Boese, which union was blessed with six sons, one of whom preceded her in death.

She was a faithful companion, standing by her husband in the many duties in the church. She was a prayerful and loving mother. She has shared the joys and sorrows of life with her husband for 49 years and seven months.

She enjoyed relatively good health most of her life. In 1946 she experienced a major operation which was successful. However, in 1961 it was discovered that she had a serious cancer condition and professional help was sought. Apparently all was well until the last year when further complications set in. In keeping with her request, she was cared for in the home until the last two days when she had severe pain and was taken to the hospital.

The Lord relieved her of her suffering on Dec. 29, 1963, when she peacefully went to sleep.

She bore her suffering patiently and kept her faith to the end. One of her favorite expressions was “My Lord knows the way through the wilderness, all I have to do is follow.”

She leaves to mourn, her husband of Corn; five sons, Harry J. of Neosho, Mo., Elden F. of Buhler, Kan., Rev. Homer H. of Hagerstown, Md., Sam G. of Denver, Colo., and Lewis H. of Fresno, Calif.; five daughters-in-law; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. P. J. Franz of Hillsboro, Kan.; four brothers, D. W. Siemens of Reedley, Calif., A. W. Siemens of Corn, F. W. Siemens and P. W. Siemens of Buhler, Kan.

We mourn for mother, but not as those that have no hope, for we will meet her in heaven. — The Bereaved Family.
