— Last week’s snowstorm caused one death here when John F. Boese, 66, collapsed and died, apparently of a heart attack, while shoveling snow in front of his home Friday morning. He was a retired Santa Fe machinist and a member of the First Baptist church. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at Moody’s funeral home. Surviving are his wife, the former Katherine Thiessen, a son and daughter both living in Newton, and three brothers, Pete of Wiley, Colo., A. L. of Hillsboro, and George of Halstead. Mr. Boese had been in charge of compiling the Boese family history, and this work will now be taken over by Rev. Curt L. Boese of Walton.
