In 1872 she was united in marriage to Henry Boehr. Two children were born to this union, both of whom died in infancy.

In 1881 Mr. and Mrs. Boehr came to America and settled in Garden Township where they joined the Mennonite church. They were faithful members there up to the time of their death.

After Mr. Boehr's death the lonely widow came to the Bethel Home for Aged in 1926. Although her friends were not numerous, yet those who knew her were faithful and dear to her. During the ten years that she was a resident of the Home there was never an Easter or Christmas that she was not remembered with flowers and other gifts from her devoted friends.

Mrs. Boehr was a devoted Christian who loved her Lord dearly. Altho an invalid and unable to attend church during the last year of her life, yet she longed to fellowship with her Master and frequently desired a communion service in her room. She was ready to meet her Lord and looked forward to the time when she would be with Him.

The funeral service was held in the chapel of the Bethel Home. Rev. Jac. Dirks of Garden township conducted the funeral. Rev. J. M Suderman preached the sermon, his text being Revelation 7, 13-14. A quartet sang two German songs.

Elizabeth Boehr

Elizabeth Boehr, nee Poth, was born Dec. 24, 1850, in Oberheim near Hamburg, Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany, and passed away July 19, 1936 in the Home for the Aged, Newton, Kansas.

In 1872 she was united in marriage to Henry Boehr. Two children were born to this union, both of whom died in infancy.
