Retired Boy Scout Executive Dies

Ralph Y. Blosser, 64, of North Canton, Ohio, who served in professional capacities with the Boy Scouts of America for 27 years before his retirement last year, died July 28 at a Canton hospital. He was the brother of Richard Blosser, associate editor of the Review.

Mr. Blosser was hospitalized with a heart condition last spring, and suffered a heart attack two weeks before his death.

He was born at Goshen, Ind., the son of Christian B. and Carrie (Yoder) Blosser. He held degrees from both Bluffton and Goshen Colleges, and taught school at Pine Ridge, Ky. and Seven Mile, Ohio before joining the Boy Scout organization in 1944. For seven years before retirement he was a field scout executive under the Buckeye Council at Canton, and before that was director of the Harding Area Council at Marion, Ohio.

Surviving in addition to the brother here are his wife, the former Elizabeth Habegger, native of Berne, Ind.; three children, Mrs. Philip (Carolyn) Henderson of Newton, Mass., Mrs. John (Margaret) Diez of Marion, O., and John R. of Milford, Ind.; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. John E. (Christine) Hartzler of Akron, O. and Mrs. Eugene R. (Sara) Melson of Jefferson, Iowa.

He was a member of Christ United Presbyterian Church of Canton, where memorial services were conducted on Friday afternoon, July 30. Rev. Geo. Parkinson, the senior pastor, officiated.
