text of obituary:

ERNEST D. BLOSSER

Ernest Devit [sic David] Blosser, son of Samuel H. and Emma C. Blosser of Dayton, Va., was born Feb. 27, 1881. He passed away in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ira Buerge of Archbold, Ohio, on Aug. 5, 1961 at the age of 80 years, five months, and five days.

He was united in marriage with Bertie Brown on Feb. 26, 1902. They shared joys and sorrows until Sept. 5, 1958 when mother was called away by death. To this union were born 10 sons and three daughters. Six sons preceded him in death. He is survived by four sons, Paul of Youngstown, Owen of Wauseon, Noah of Stryker, and Charles of Archbold; three daughters, Hettie, Mrs. Ira Buerge and Rebecca, Mrs. Harold Beck, both of Archbold, and Emma, Mrs. Bernhard Friesen of Wauseon; 28 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Samuel of Crimora, Va., Jonas and Fred of Dayton, Va., and four sisters, Mattie Hartman of Archbold, Ohio, Lizzie Kulp of Nappanee, Ind., Katie Lahman and Priscilla Shull, both of Dayton, Va. His father, mother, two brothers, and three sisters preceded him in death.

The past three years he had made his home with some of the children, also living with his sister Mattie for nine months.

He with his family moved from Dayton, Va. to the Archbold vicinity in 1923. In his younger years he accepted Christ as his personal Saviour, uniting with the Wisler Mennonite Church. Later he united with Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. In the past few years of ill health he did not forget God, and expressed himself as ready and waiting for the call to go to his heavenly Home.

His death came rather unexpectedly, although we felt his days were numbered. We are grateful to God that he was spared intense suffering and could pass on peacefully and quietly.

Funeral services were held Aug. 9 at the Central Mennonite Church near Archbold. Min. Jesse Short, Min. Simon Stuckey, and Min. Donald Seller were in charge.
