— The aged Grandfather Cornelius J. Block of the Bethesda Home in Goessell, nearing his 102nd birthday, passed away Dec. 12. Funeral services were held in the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church of which he was a long-time member and where he formerly served as deacon and in other capacities. He was born Jan. 7, 1854, in Kitschen, Poland, and came to America in 1876, arriving at Burrton, Kan., on July 4 of that year, and he had lived at the Home in Goessel since 1941.
