Death Claims Early Pioneer in Oklahoma

Corn, Okla. — C. Bergmann, a resident of this community for more than 73 years, died at the Cordell hospital on Sept. 28.

The funeral was conducted Oct. 2 at the Corn M. B. Church, of which he was an active member and where he had been a Sunday school teacher for over 50 years.

Mr. Bergmann came to this community from Marion county, Kansas with his family as a lad of eight. The family was one of the first to settle in this area, filing a claim in a homestead a half mile east of the present town of Corn. He taught in rural schools for eight years, and later engaged in farming.

Survivors include his widow, Anna of the Corn Home for Aged, two daughters and one son and their families, two sisters and two brothers.
