text of obituary:
Mrs. Rosa Bergman of Park Place, Washington, wife of Cornelius Bergman, died early Tuesday morning, Feb. 24, after a lingering illness. She was born in Switzerland on October 11, 1870, hence has passed her 72nd birthday. With her family she had resided in this locality 23 years.
She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, Cornelius Bergman; three daughters, Alice Allert of Ritzville, Washington; Esther Rose and Martha Brown, both of Everett, Washington; and two sons, Del Bergman of boulder City, Nev., and Samuel Bergman of Yakima, Washington, and six grand children.
At the age of 19 she came to this country and remained in Berne, ind., until 1890, going to Darlington, Oklahoma, as helper at the Mission Compound, which was under the General Conference of the Mennonites of North America.
She met Mr. Bergman at Darlington. They were united in Marriage January 11, 1895. After spending some time in Paso Robles, California, they came to Washington in 1903, and for the past 23 years have lived in Monroe.
The deceased was ill for the past three years, and suffered much but was patient and cheerful always.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, Feb. 27, in the Mennonite church. Rev. M. M. Lehmann officiated. All friends of the family extend heartfelt sympathy.
