MRS. SUE BERGEN
Mrs. Sue Bergen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Plett, born in Hamilton, Kan. on Dec. 21, 1910, and passed to her eternal reward April 6, 1964, having reached the age of 53 years, three months, and 16 days.
In her youth she realized her need of a Saviour and accepted Christ as her personal Saviour from sin. On June 22, 1930, she was baptized upon her confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ by Rev. Klaas Kroeker and united with the Bethel Mennonite Church south of Inman, Kan. After her marriage she and her husband united with the Missionary Church in Elbing, Kan. On Nov. 18, 1948, after they moved to western Kansas, she together with her husband united with the Meadow Mennonite Church, Colby, Kan., of which she remainen [sic] a sincere and faithful member until her death.
On May 10, 1936, she was united in marriage to George Bergen by Rev. Andrew Schmidt in the Bethel Mennonite Church. Their home was blessed with one son and three daughters.
Her untiring efforts, her love and devotion, her concern for the spiritual needs of her family and loved ones, and her living faith will always be cherished by her family and by all who knew her.
In the church fellowship mother enjoyed the work and fellowship in the Ladies Mission Society and served her Lord in various ways. At the time of her death she was also a Sunday School teacher.
Her parents, two sisters, and two brothers preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband of Colby, Kan.; one son, Roy of Meade, Kan.; three daughters, (Judith) Mrs. Bud Seely of Meade, (Darlene) Mrs. Ralph Classen of Weskan, Kan., and Sharon Bergen of the home; two sons-in-law; two granddaughters; one sister, Mrs. Marie Friesen of Meade; and three brothers, George, Abe, and Jake Plett, all of Inman, Kan. — George Bergen and Family.,
