JULIUS ANTON BERG

Julius Anton Berg of Clearbrook, B.C. passed away on December 6. He was born on February 11, 1899 to Anton and Anna (Janzen) Berg in Hoffnungsfeld, Russia. He accepted Jesus as his personal Saviour in his teens, was baptized and joined the MB church. He married Helen Sukkau on February 17, 1922; immigrated to Canada in 1925, living first in Winkler and then in Mountainside, Man.; moved to B.C. in 1931, and to Yarrow in 1937; moved to Clearbrook in October 1979. He is predeceased by his wife Helena and two sons. He is survived by three sons: George and Agnes of Port Moody, Tony of Rosedale and Harry of Vancouver (all of B.C.); four daughters: Louis of Vancouver, (Mrs.) Anne Kirkaldy of Hamilton, Ont., Hilda (Mrs. Peter) Worobets of Kitimat, B.C. and Heidi of Vancouver; eight grandchildren and one sister. The funeral was held December 10 in the Yarrow MB Church, with pastor A.L. Klassen and H. Thielmann in charge.
