• John J. Berg, 68, farmer and lifelong resident of the Whitewater area, died Oct. 3 at Axtell Christian Hospital here. He was a member of the Emmaus Mennonite Church, where the funeral was conducted Saturday afternoon. Rev. L. R. Amstutz, the pastor, officiated. Mr. Berg leaves his wife, the former Dorothy Richert; three sons, Rodney of Whitewater, James of Colby, and Chester of Goddard; seven grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Gus Regier, Mrs. Helen Dieck, and Louise Berg, all of Whitewater.
