Orpha and her sisters Dorothy were in a group of young people from the Christian Tabernacle Church, Washington, Ia., attending the Zion Camp on Lake Phelan near St. Paul, Minn. The drowning occurred while the campers were in swimming.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. W. J. Stevens of Washington and Rev. Wm. Lemke of Ogden, Ia.

Surviving in addition to the parents and sisters are the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Noah Nisly of Hutchinson, Kan. and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Bender of Kalona.

15-Year-Old Iowa Girl Drowns at Church Camp in Minnesota

Kalona, Iowa. — Funeral services were held at the East Union Mennonite Church here Aug. 3 for Orpha M. Bender, 15-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bender of rural Kalona who drowned at a church camp in Minnesota.

Orpha and her sisters Dorothy were in a group of young people from the Christian Tabernacle Church, Washington, Ia., attending the Zion Camp on Lake Phelan near St. Paul, Minn. The drowning occurred while the campers were in swimming.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. W. J. Stevens of Washington and Rev. Wm. Lemke of Ogden, Ia.

Surviving in addition to the parents and sisters are the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Noah Nisly of Hutchinson, Kan. and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Bender of Kalona.
