            ● Emma Ruth Bender, 87, a Newton homemaker, died March 10 at Newton Medical Center. Funeral services were held March 14 at West Zion Mennonite Church, Moundridge, with Ralph Graber and Ed R. Stucky officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Survivors include two sons, Robert L. of McPherson and Darrell Eugene of Houston; two daughters, Irene Banman of Newton and Marjorie Loewen of Hutchinson; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Her husband, Lewis, preceded her in death in 1963.
