Mrs. Maria Becker was born Sept. 1, 1865, at Alexanderwohl, South Russia. In 1874 she came to America with her parents and they settled in Marion county, Kansas, where she lived all her life. When she was 18 years old she was baptized upon her confession of faith and was admitted into the Mennonite church of which she was a faithful member until her death.

On Jan. 29, 1884, she was married to Julius Becker who preceded her in death Feb. 20, 1916.

For many years she had heart trouble and in April of last year dropsy set in and she suffered much during the last months of her life until her death on Feb. 28, 1929, about noon. The way was not always easy, but she put her trust in her Savior and now she has gone to her reward. She leaves to mourn her passing, eight children, Mrs. Jacob Kroeker, Mrs. John Peters, Ben, Julius, Reynold, Mrs. Alvin Dalke, Mrs. Jacob Wiebe and Gustav, seventeen grandchildren, an 84 year old mother, Mrs. Benj. Frey, four brothers and two sisters and a host of friends who will all miss her friendly, smiling face.

Funeral services were conducted from the Ta bor church norht of Newton by Rev. P. H. Richert and Rev. John J. Voth. &#8212; Exchange.

Mrs. Maria Becker

Mrs. Maria Becker was born Sept. 1, 1865, at Alexanderwohl, South Russia. In 1874 she came to America with her parents and they settled in Marion county, Kansas, where she lived all her life. When she was 18 years old she was baptized upon her confession of faith and was admitted into the Mennonite church of which she was a faithful member until her death.

On Jan. 29, 1884, she was married to Julius Becker who preceded her in death Feb. 20, 1916.
