Jacob B. Becker was born June 13, 1864, in Poland, Russia. At the age of two years he lost his parents through death. He spent his youth with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schmidt, his foster parents. In 1874, he being about eleven years old, came to America with his foster parents and settled in Kansas and soon began to fight his own battles in life.

He was baptized by Rev. John Ratzlaff on March 6, 1881. On Feb. 5, 1881, he was united in marriage to Mary Jantz. This union was blessed with twelve children, one son having died in his youth. In 1900 the family moved to Major Co. northwest of Ringwood, Okla. Here he resided until his death on Jan. 8, 1938. Ten days prior he received a paralytic stroke and gradually became weaker and more helpless until his end came shortly after midnight on Saturday.

He attained the age of 73 years, 6 months, 25 days. He leaves to mourn his departure his beloved wife, 4 sons and 7 daughters: John C., Hollywood, Calif., Dietrich D., Stockton, Kans.; Henry J. and Clarence, Ringwood, Okla.; Susie, Mrs. Clyde Koehn, and Mary, Mrs. John M. Jantz, Meno, Okla.; Ida, Mrs. Henry W. Jantz and Nina, Mrs. Albert J. Unruh, Ringwood, Okla.; Lizzie, Mrs. Simon P. Unruh, Calwa, Calif.; Martha, Mrs. Dewey Decker, Dalhart, Texas; Hilda, Mrs. L. L. Koehn, Hollywood, Calif., 24 grandchildren and many friends. His brothers and sisters had all gone on before and also 3 of his grandchildren.

Rev. J. J. Ratzlaff conducted the services at the home. At the church Rev. H. U Schmidt made the introduction. Rev. J. J. Ratzlaff and Rev. J. B. Frey each brought an appropriate message. A few hymns were sung by the congregation and the men's chorus sang several selections and also one at the cemetery. Rev. H. u. Schmidt conducted the services at the grave. — The family.
