Mrs. Anna S. Becker, 87, passed away at Bethel hospital Sunday morning, Aug. 13. She suffered a coronary heart attack on July 18 and was admitted to the hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 15 at Bethel Mennonite Church, with interment in the Mt. Lake cemetery.

Anna Schroeder Becker, daughter of Heinrich and Anna Regier Schroeder, was born in Mt. Lake Township, Cottonwood County, MN on Sept. 27, 1879.

On July 10, 1898 she was baptized and upon confession of her faith, received into membership of Bethel Mennonite Church by the Rev. H. H. Regier. On June 19, 1906 she was united in marriage to John J. Becker; to this union nine children were born.

Mr. and Mrs. Becker lived in Mt. Lake until 1919 when they moved to a farm north of Mt. Lake, later moving to the home farm west of Mt. Lake. They farmed until 1950 when they moved into Mt. Lake.

Mr. Becker passed away on Oct. 26, 1956. Mrs. Becker continued to live in her own home with a son, Ben. On July 18 Mrs. Becker suffered a coronary heart attack and was taken to Bethel hospital, where she passed away at 12:15 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, 1967. She attained the age of 87 years, 10 months and 16 days.

She is survived by nine children: Otto, Ben and Paul, all of Mt. Lake; Alvin of Burrton, KS; Mrs. Irma Piper of Santa Rosa, CA; Wilmar of Lafayette, IN; Mrs. Harold (Alida) Fredenburg of Pacoima, CA; Edgar of Worthington; and Mrs. Paul (Ann) Rexroad of Columbia, MO. Also 18 grandchildren; and three sisters: Katharine, Helen, and Elizabeth Schroeder, all of Mt. Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and four brothers.
