GREAT-GRANDMOTHER DIES AT AGE 83

Archbold, Ohio. — Funeral services were held at the West Clinton Mennonite Church on April 13 for Mrs. Katie Beck, 83, lifelong resident of the Pettisville community. She died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Clayton Mininger, after a long illness.

Grandmother Beck's large family of descendants includes three sons and three daughters, 25 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

MRS. KATIE BECK

Katie Freyenberger Beck, daughter of Christ. and Katie (Frey) Freyenberger, was born near Pettisville, Ohio on April 16, 1874, and passed from this life April 10, 1958, in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clayton Mininger, after a long illness, having reached the age of 83 years, 11 months and 24 days.

She was united in marriage Dec. 5, 1893 near Pettisville, O., to Levi Beck, she was a member of the West Clinton Mennonite Church and a lifelong resident of the Pettisville area.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Levi, four sons, William, Frank, Ezra and Christ.; one grandson and one great-grandson.

She is survived by three sons and three daughters, Edward Beck, Toledo, Mrs. Edna Mininger, Pettisville, Harvey Beck, Pettisville, Walter Beck, Tecumseh, Mich., Mrs. Herma Sunday, Pettisville and Mrs. Lucille Stull, Scottale, Pa.; 25 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Stuckey, Archbold, Miss Lucy Freyenberger, Archbold and Mrs. Hanna Schmucker, Pettisville, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the West Clinton Mennonite Church on Sunday, April 13, with Rev. Dan Sommers, Rev. Edward Frey and Rev. Walter Stuckey officiating and interment was in the Pettisville cemetery.
