Retired Sawmill Operator Dies

Archbold, Ohio. — Christ J. Beck, 82, retired sawmill operator and long-time resident of the Stryker community, died Aug. 14 at Fairlawn Haven Home here.

Mr. Beck was well known throughout this community. He was head sawyer at Franks Saw Mill, Stryker, for 14 years, and before that was head sawyer at Gotshall Lumber Co. In earlier years he was a carpenter and operated a threshing rig in partnership with his brother Samuel.

Funeral services were conducted at Central Mennonite Church here.
