HEART ATTACK FATAL TO TO [sic] WELL KNOWN COMPOSER AND MUSIC INSTRUCTOR

Princeton, N. J. — Friends and faculty members of the Westminster School of Music were shocked to receive word of the sudden death of Prof. J. G. Baumgartner, 47, at Portsmouth, Ohio, where he was conducting a music institute. Prof. Baumgartner was a member of the Westminster faculty for the past number of years.

Mr. Baumgartner was found dead in the morning beside his bed, death having evidently been due to heart attack.

He was a talented musican and composer and had taken up the teaching of music soon after his graduation from Bluffton College in Ohio.

Survivors include his grief-stricken wife, the former Ruth Allgyer; three daughters, his father, and two brothers.
