Retired Teacher Died at Age 76

WAS MEMBER OF FIRST GRADUATING CLASS AT BLUFFTON COLLEGE

Pandora, Ohio. — Funeral services for Miss Matilda Basinger, who spent 35 years of her life as a teacher, were held at the Grace Mennonite Church here Jan. 26. Rev. E. J. Bohn officiated.

She died Jan. 24 at a Toledo hospital following a heart attack.

A native of this community, she was a member of the first graduating class at Bluffton College and later served on the faculty there. She received the A. B. degree from Western Reserve University and the master's degree from the University of Chicago, and taught in Chicago high schools for many years.

She leaves two sisters and 19 nieces and nephews.
