Girl, 5, Fatally Injured in R. R. Crossing Accident

HER PARENTS, OTIS BASINGERS OF PANDORA, INJURED

Pandora, Ohio. — Funeral services were held at the Ebenezer church near Bluffton on Monday, April 18, for little Kay Elaine Basinger, 5, who passed away in Lima Memorial hospital April 15 a few hours after suffering her injuries in a railroad crossing accident near here.

Seriously injured in the same accident was her mother, Mrs. Otis (Evelyn) Basinger, who received fractures of both legs and the left wrist, and severe head injuries. Mr. Basinger suffered head and chest injuries, but was released from the hospital.

The Basinger car skidded onto the Akron, Canton and Youngstown crossing west of here and was struck by a train after Mr. Basinger tried to avoid hitting a truck which had stopped in front of him.
